Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an assistant teacher for a part-time, hourly role in Philadelphia. You will help plan and implement age-appropriate activities, support families, and contribute to a fun, safe childcare environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years (2500 hours) of childcare experience. The position offers a $16.00–$16.50 hourly rate, a Free YMCA membership, flexible schedule, and opportunities to grow within a nonprofit community-focused

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula to ensure fun, child-centered, and age-appropriate lessons are offered.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for both children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and supporting personal care routines of the children.
• Supervise each child in your care by being able to identify, SEE, HEAR, DIRECT and ASSIST, always ensuring a safe environment.
• Uphold all YMCA, State, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines for overall commitment to quality in childcare.
