Job summary

University of North Texas System is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Academic Technology to provide strategic leadership of the university's academic technology ecosystem. The AVP will oversee instructional technology, LMS, classroom tech, and digital learning environments, aligning initiatives with teaching and research missions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten years of leadership in information/educational technology within higher education or similar complex org.
• Minimum five years in senior management leading multiple technology teams.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise technology strategies for teaching and learning.
• Experience managing large technology budgets and strategic planning initiatives.
• Experience leading cross-functional academic and administrative initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a university-wide strategic academic technology plan.
• Provide executive leadership for academic technology operations including LMS and classroom tech.
• Direct delivery of technology services to faculty, students, and units with measurable standards.
• Collaborate with Provost, deans, chairs, libraries, and online education to identify tech needs.
• Oversee lifecycle management for enterprise academic technology platforms.
• Lead governance, budgeting, procurement, and vendor relationships for academic tech.
