Job summary

Flagship Management is seeking an Assistant Voyage Manager for a tanker owner in Houston. The role supports the commercial operation of assigned vessels from pre-fixture planning through voyage execution and post-voyage reporting.

The successful candidate will work with chartering, vessel managers, brokers, agents and internal teams to keep voyages running efficiently, with opportunities to grow in a dynamic, growth-oriented company.

Qualifications

• At least two years of commercial vessel operations experience.
• A degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and across teams.
• Willingness to respond outside business hours when operational needs require it.
• Experience with voyage management systems, including IMOS, is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support chartering with vessel specifications, cargo capabilities, performance history, schedules, port information and estimated voyage costs.
• Coordinate with charterers, brokers, port agents and internal teams throughout each voyage.
• Monitor voyage performance, cargo intake, bunker requirements and vessel schedules.
• Arrange port agency and bunker services; review port disbursement accounts.
• Track receivables, off-hire events, vetting status and operational claims.
• Maintain accurate voyage records and prepare reports and documentation for accounting, claims and demurrage teams.
• Assist the wider operations team with systems and administrative tasks.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the US, no visa or sponsorship at this time
