Job Description

WSP is growing and we have an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Vice President Environmental Project Manager to support our Environmental Business Line in El Paso, Texas. We are seeking a motivated candidate eager to expand our environmental consulting business in Texas.

Your Impact
  1. Identify and develop new clients for our environmental services through networking.
  2. Manage environmental projects, including site characterization, remedial design, and compliance, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are met.
  3. Perform field work for site characterization and remediation, overseeing subcontractors and sampling activities in accordance with regulations.
  4. Analyze data and prepare reports, recommending remedial solutions based on scientific and engineering principles.
  5. Review projects for compliance with environmental laws and standards.
  6. Travel primarily within Texas and occasionally to other mountain states, with minimal overnight stays.
  7. Maintain communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service.
  8. Mentor and train junior staff to develop their skills and responsibilities.
  9. Lead project teams, ensuring quality and timely delivery of work.
  10. Participate in technical discussions and business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
  11. Manage project budgets, schedules, and client satisfaction to foster repeat business.
  12. Adhere to ethical standards and company policies in decision-making and resource management.
  13. Perform additional duties as needed.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Post-Graduate (PG) license; Texas licensure preferred
  • 10+ years of post-education experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experience providing environmental consulting to industrial, mining, energy, or government sectors
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations including TRRP
  • Experience with field investigations, site assessments, remediation, and sampling
  • Project management skills with a focus on deliverables, schedules, and budgets
  • Excellent communication skills, self-starter, team-oriented
  • Business development experience with client relationship management and proposal preparation
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Ability to travel within Texas and occasionally to other states; minimal overnight travel
  • Must pass background check and have a satisfactory driving record
