We are seeking a Environmental Project Manager to support the renewable energy team. This position is remote. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating resilient power solutions to help drive the transformation toward a more sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager for early due diligence, baseline studies, permitting, engineering, and design tasks for large-scale renewable energy projects, such as solar facilities, battery energy storage systems, wind projects, and/or green hydrogen projects
- Lead client engagement and technical proposal development efforts
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to complete all aspects of environmental impact analysis and permitting and engineering studies, including power siting board applications, and associated multiple support studies
- Oversee all aspects of a project including scope, schedule, budget, technical resources, and communications
- Serve as senior reviewer and facilitate senior reviews for technical reports
- Set and maintain project schedule to complete required tasks by established due dates to support overall development activities
- Coordinate and manage field crews and sub-contractors· Work with owners, regulators, design teams, contractors, and sub-contractors to achieve project goals
- Create change orders for additional or out-of-scope work
- Communicate with clients and internal management regarding project status
- Build new client relationships
- Learn, understand, and apply changes in policy, legislation, regulations, and new technologies
- May require up to 25% travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Ecological Engineering; Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field
- Master’s Degree is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience in the renewable energy industry
- Minimum of 2 years of Project Management experience
- Strong technical background with renewable energy projects
- Experience with environmental resource studies, impact analysis, and permitting
- Ability to recognize business risks and to identify opportunities to offer enterprise-wide solutions for the client
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of Vantagepoint or similar project management and accounting software preferred
- Works effectively to meet deadlines with minimum supervision; strong problem-solving skills; collaborates well with colleagues regionally and globally
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients
- Must have the ability to multi-task among several projects at one time
