Job summary

Topeka Public Schools seeks an Assistant Treasurer to support district finances, cash management, and TSA accounts. You will coordinate electronic payments, prepare financial reports, and assist with financial planning while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Working with the Treasurer, you will help manage idle funds, oversee activity funds, and provide guidance on activity fund accounting and controls to district personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years in governmental or public school finance or related area.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily receipt and disbursement of district funds.
• Maintains district bank accounts including activity funds.
• Coordinates ACH and electronic wire payments.
• Prepares monthly financial reports and supports TSA accounts.
• Assists with cash management, investments, and records.
• Responds to employee questions about activity fund transactions.
