Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of track and field.
• Knowledge of NFHS and MPA rules and safety procedures.
• Ability to model sportsmanship and be a positive role model for student-athletes.

Responsabilités

• Implement and coach jumps and sprints technique and race strategy.
• Ensure athlete safety and injury prevention.
• Enforce athletic policies and regulations approved by the Board of Education.

Job Goal(s):

The Assistant Track and Field Coach for Jumps & Sprints is responsible for training, instructing, and mentoring high school student-athletes in sprint mechanics, relay execution, and jumping events (long jump, triple jump, and high jump)Working under the supervision of the Head Track and Field Coach, this role focuses on developing acceleration, top-end speed, jumping technique, and race strategy while prioritizing athlete safety, injury prevention, and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Certifications

• Valid CHRC

Performance Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by theMt. Blue District Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation.
• Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations.

Education

The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate.

Experience

Comprehensive knowledge of thesport is preferred as well asknowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of NFHS and MPA Rules. Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.

Working Schedule

Flexible after school hours required for scheduled meets both home and away.

Travel Requirements

Travelto home and away meets. Travel to state team and individual competitions when players qualify.

Reports To: Director of Athletics /Head Coach

Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.

Evaluation: Completed annually byDirector of Athletics

Stipend Position: $3,254

FLSA Status: Exempt
