Job summary

By Design LLC is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support our women’s apparel development and production teams in New York. You will create and update tech packs, measure samples, and assist with fittings to ensure accurate specs and fit.

You will review construction and workmanship, relay technical corrections to overseas factories, and track development stages. Proficiency in Excel and Illustrator is required; prior experience with woven/knit is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of technical design experience.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fit, and measurements.
• Proficient in Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with women’s woven and knit apparel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and update tech packs and garment specifications.
• Measure samples and maintain accurate spec sheets.
• Assist with fittings and prepare fit comments.
• Review garment construction, fit, and workmanship.
• Communicate technical corrections to overseas factories.
• Track development, PP, and TOP samples.
• Support the Technical Designer with daily tasks and production approvals.
