Compensation: Up to $65,000

Position Overview

The Assistant Technical Designer will support the technical design team throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring garments meet quality, fit, and construction standards. This role collaborates closely with design, product development, and production teams to maintain accurate technical specifications and facilitate timely product execution. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support the technical design team throughout the product development process by assisting with daily tasks and project coordination.
• Assist with fit sessions, sample reviews, and technical updates to ensure garments meet design intent and quality standards.
• Review and maintain technical specifications, measurements, and product details for accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and revise tech packs and technical documentation to support production readiness.
• Communicate with design, product development, and production teams to ensure alignment on product execution.
• Track samples, fit comments, and revisions to ensure timely follow-through and adherence to deadlines.
• Maintain organized records of technical information and product updates for reference and compliance.
• Support the team with additional technical design and product development responsibilities as needed.

Required Experience/Skills

• Previous experience or relevant education in technical design, apparel design, product development, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of garment construction, fit, and apparel manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with technical design software or PLM systems preferred.

Preferred Experience/Skills

• 1-2+ years of experience with technical design, fit, or apparel product development.
• Familiarity with tech packs, measurement specifications, and fit comments.
• Experience working with childrenswear products.
• Background in collaborating with cross-functional design and production teams.
• Fashion-related degree or equivalent industry experience.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Coursework or training in garment construction and patternmaking is a plus.
• Familiarity with apparel production processes and quality standards.
• Continued learning in technical design tools and PLM systems encouraged.
