Job summary

Boise State University seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor to develop and teach Community Impact Certificate courses and advise certificate students. You will collaborate with the Community Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator and campus units to promote access to applied learning across Idaho.

The role emphasizes community-engaged teaching and place-based learning, including rural communities, with travel to partner sites and some evenings or weekends for events.

Qualifications

• PhD or terminal degree in education, social sciences, humanities, communication, business, or related fields.
• Three years of experience in adult/non-traditional learning, community engagement, or workforce training.
• Evidence of successful teaching and student-centered curriculum design.
• Demonstrated success in developing or managing partnerships with employers or community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Teach all assigned Community Impact Certificate courses with a 2:2 teaching load.
• Improve offerings with student-centered, high-impact learning opportunities.
• Coordinate outreach and partnerships with campus units to recruit learners.
• Build campus partnerships to bring guest speaker faculty and staff.
• Promote events and outreach activities to drive recruitment into programs.
• Develop and sustain relationships with community partners to support learning.
• Lead assessment of the Community Impact Certificate program and report outcomes.
• Participate in committees and grant or program development efforts as needed.
• Document and report program outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
