Job summary

Villa Montessori, part of the Busy Bees childcare community, is hiring an Assistant Teacher at Stone Ridge Center. This role supports the lead teacher in offering a Montessori experience, guiding children as they grow in independence and confidence, and communicating with families.

Center hours include full-time 9am-6pm or part-time 12pm-6pm, with no evenings or weekends. Responsibilities cover supervising children, assisting in small groups, and maintaining classroom materials and safety, while

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
• Must meet state criteria for childcare employment.

• Assist in classroom management and family communications.

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide an authentic Montessori experience by following each child as they grow and develop independence, confidence and a strong sense of community. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 16 months – 6 years.
• Assist and support the lead teacher with supervision of children in the classroom while fostering an environment that will allow children to develop at their own pace.
• Work with individual and small groups of children as directed by the lead teacher.
• Create a rapport with the children and be responsive to their needs, guiding them through self-directed activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents to answer questions.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of the classroom, teaching materials and equipment.

Requirements:
