Job summary

BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care Career Center in Manassas, VA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our team and help create a warm, engaging classroom. You will work side-by-side with teachers and families to support children's growth, safety and independence.

The shift is 3-5 hours daily, 5 days a week, with no evenings or weekends, and a childcare discount plus benefits. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year experience in a licensed childcare setting;

• 1+ years’ experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for childcare employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 16 months – 6 years.
• Assist and support the lead teacher with supervision of children in the classroom while fostering an environment that will allow children to develop at their own pace.
• Work with individual and small groups of children as directed by the lead teacher.
• Create a rapport with the children and be responsive to their needs, guiding them through self-directed activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents to answer questions.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of the classroom, teaching materials and equipment.

What will you be doing?
