BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care Career Center is seeking an Assistant Teacher at the Polaris Center in OH. The role supports the lead teacher to deliver a Montessori-inspired program for children 16 months to 6 years old.

Expect supervision, small-group work, and strong parent communication in a fast-paced classroom. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1+ years in licensed childcare preferred, and the ability to multitask within standard hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in early childhood development or related field is preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years’ experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Must meet state criteria for childcare employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 16 months – 6 years.
• Assist and support the lead teacher with supervision of children in the classroom while fostering independence and self-directed activities.
• Work with individual and small groups of children as directed by the lead teacher.
• Create a rapport with the children and be responsive to their needs, guiding them through self-directed activities.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents to answer questions.
• Responsible for the care and maintenance of the classroom, teaching materials and equipment.

What will you be doing?

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide an authentic Montessori experience by following each child as they grow and develop independence, confidence and a strong sense of community. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 16 months – 6 years.
