Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, is seeking an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools across our network.

You will work with a diverse group of students, assist the teacher with instruction, behavior support, and progress tracking. The role emphasizes small group instruction, data-driven planning, and collaboration with teachers and service providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small group instruction as you implement the SESI academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks and using data to tailor materials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and supervising students.
• Utilize behavior support strategies and implement de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during transitions and travel between locations.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to address student needs.
