Job summary

Hope House Colorado is seeking an early learning assistant teacher for our brand new center serving infants through Pre-K. You will create a safe, engaging environment, build relationships with children and families, and work with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality play-based education.

You will support curriculum planning, classroom management, and supervision, ensuring compliance with Colorado rules. This role emphasizes growth, teamwork, and core values as part of a 40‑hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Early childhood coursework, CDA or degree, or in process of obtaining (Preferred), OR…
• Teacher assistant: minimum of CDA (not expired), OR…
• Staff aide or on-call substitute teacher: high school diploma or GED; experience working with young children preferred, OR…
• Floating teacher: PDIS level II or qualified as an early childhood teacher
• At least six months of experience working in child care, daycare or preschool
• Don’t quite meet all the educational requirements? Consider applying anyway with a professional development plan

Responsibilities

• Model appropriate teacher/child interactions; define limits for safety and smooth transitions between activities
• Assist with daily routine; distribute supplies, keep attendance, serve snacks/meals, maintain cleanliness
• Support teacher with curriculum, supervision during classroom and recess
• Demonstrate flexibility by working with different classrooms and ages
• Maintain a clean classroom and ensure health and safety
• Attend staff meetings and participate in Colorado Shines Rating process
• Promote core values and participate in ongoing professional development
