Job summary

The Elegant Child is a licensed childcare center in Wildwood seeking full-time Assistant Teachers for our 2-Year-Old Classroom or School Age program, plus Floater Teachers to support all age groups (Infants-PreK). A high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass background checks are required.

Previous childcare experience is a plus. Shifts are Monday–Friday with various afternoon times; compensation range is $15.50–$17.00 per hour, based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom aspects.
• Implement activities to foster emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.

• Build professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Meet physical requirements of working with young children (lift up to 40 lbs).

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift

Monday - Friday, (2s/Floating) 11am-5:30pm or 12-5:30pm OR split shift (School Age) 7:30-9:30am AND 2:30-5:30pm

Compensation

$15.50 - $17.00/ hr. based on education and experience.

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspectsof the classroomin a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activitiesthatencourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative,and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism,and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Createand maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running,and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
