Job summary

Life Time Inc. Beaverton is seeking an Aquatics Assistant Swim Team Coach to help our swimmers improve technique in our indoor and outdoor pools. You will work with the Head Swim Team Coach to write and head Swim Team Group Workouts, register new participants, and help maintain clean facilities.

You will support daily practices, assist with member registrations, and ensure a safe, welcoming aquatics environment for all participants. Previous ASCA/USA Swimming involvement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of swim coaching experience.
• Must be a member of ASCA and USA Swimming.
• Complete Life Time Swim Instructor Certification.
• Capable of working in a club environment and moving around the facility.
• Able to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid required or in progress with bridge to StarGuard.

Responsibilities

• Offers competitive swimmers the opportunity to master technique.
• Runs daily practices under the direction of the head coach.
• Promotes all Life Time products, services and programs.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
  

Years of Experience

• 1 year of swim coaching experience
• Member of ASCA
• Member of USA Swimming
• Successfully complete and pass Life Time Swim Instructor Certification
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
  

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• Lifeguard certification to StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire
• Must complete all job specific requirements with Life Time Education.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCA Level 1 Certification or higher
