Job summary

Life Time Inc. is seeking an Aquatics Assistant Swim Team Coach to work in our facilities. You will help swimmers improve their technique in indoor and outdoor pools and assist the Head Swim Team Coach with group workouts.

You will register new participants for the team and help maintain the cleanliness and order of the aquatics facilities while promoting Life Time products and programs. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role grounded in safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• ASCA Level 1 Certification or higher preferred.
• Lifeguard certification (StarGuard Elite) or equivalent CPR/First Aid.
• Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire.
• Membership in ASCA and USA Swimming is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with guests and supervise swim participants.

Responsibilities

• Offers competitive swimmers the opportunity to master technique.
• Runs daily practices under the direction of the head coach.
• Promotes Life Time products, services and programs.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience

• 1 year of swim coaching experience
• Member of ASCA
• Member of USA Swimming
• Successfully complete and pass Life Time Swim Instructor Certification
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

• Lifeguard certification to StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.
• Lifeguard Certification within 60 days of hire
• Must complete all job specific requirements with Life Time Education.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCA Level 1 Certification or higher
