Job summary

The Town of Natick is seeking a passionate Part-Time Assistant Swim Coach to join our community swim program. Under the direction of the Swim Coach, you will provide leadership, instruction and motivation for swimmers aged 5–18, attend meets and help maintain a positive, safe environment.

You will assist with skill instruction, coordinate volunteers, communicate meet schedules, and help plan events. CPR/FA certification is required or in progress; candidates must be at least 18 and able to work

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to interact with participants of many ages and abilities.
• Has or will obtain CPR/FA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Swim Coach with proper skill instruction and motivation for competitive racing
• Be punctual, prepared and organized each day
• Help to give direction to any volunteers assisting with Swim Team
• Help establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff and the general public.
• Assist the Swim Coach with the regular communication to participants and parents to ensure they are aware of meet schedule and all adjustments due to weather
• Assist in the planning and execution of swim meets.
• Act in a professional manner, maintain a fun, safe and controlled environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

For over 50 years the Natick Swim Team has provided children ages 5 - 18 years of age the opportunity to participate in the competitive sport of swimming, while fostering a sense of self-worth and confidence. The primary focus of the team is aiding the swimmers in self-improvement which gives every swimmer the opportunity to succeed. The swimmers also learn sportsmanship by participating in intra-team and inter-team competitions which begins with the fundamental skills and we build from there to allow each swimmer to achieve their individual goals.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-Time Assistant Swim Coach to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in competitive swimming, and a genuine desire to help swimmers of all ages and skill levels achieve their full potential. Under the direction of the Swim Coach, provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for swim team participants, is expected to attend swim meets and team. Functions throughout the year, and is responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe and positive environment for the swim team participants.

Essential Functions

Compensation

This position is Grade 1 of the Town’s Part-Time Pay Plan with an hourly range of $16.25 - $17.24 per hr. based upon qualifications and experience.
