Job summary

The YMCA in Flemington, NJ is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach for a part-time, hourly role. You’ll help young athletes develop swimming skills, while modelling teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

Qualified applicants should have been a competitive swimmer and work well with 7–18 year-olds. Lifesaving certifications will be provided if not already held, and the YMCA offers a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Participated in competitive swimming as a student-athlete.
• Worked with children ages 7-18 as coach or educator.
• Can be a positive role model for swimmers.
• Obtain lifesaving certifications (First Aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen) - training provided.

Responsibilities

• Relate to young student-athletes in swimming and relate to their needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of competitive swimming and safety practices.
• Encourage and motivate swimmers and serve as a positive example.

Passionate about coaching the lifesaving skill of swimming? We are looking for individuals, age 18+ to serve as an Assistant Swim Coach. As an Assistant Swim Coach, you develop important skills such as communication, leadership and responsibility that will serve you for a lifetime!

What is needed for this job as our Assistant Swim Coach:

• 18+ years of age
