Job summary

Sesame Place is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for Rides to lead and mentor Ambassadors, ensuring memorable guest experiences. You will train teams, monitor attendance and performance, and enforce safety standards while handling guest situations with professionalism.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient operations, including opening/closing duties, reporting, and adherence to park policies. This on-site position values flexibility and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) months of Park Operations or related leadership experience.
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Ambassadors with proper training and tools.
  • Monitor and track team member attendance and performance, administer daily breaks.
  • Ensure compliance with Child Labor Laws regarding breaks, lunches, and hours.
  • Handle guest service matters promptly according to procedures.
  • Conduct equipment and safety checks and report issues.
  • Assist with opening/closing procedures and ensure timely task completion.
  • Enforce park policies and department procedures.
  • Complete daily and weekly reports and adhere to safety practices.

What you get to do:

As an Assistant Supervisor for Rides, you’ll play a lead role in ensuring positive, memorable guest experiences. You’ll strive to exceed guest expectations while resolving any and all guest situations. This involves training, coaching and mentoring Ambassadors to deliver consistently outstanding performances.

You will:
  • Provide Ambassadors with proper training and tools
  • Monitor and track team member attendance and performance, administer daily team member break schedules
  • Ensure compliance of Child Labor Laws with regards to breaks, lunches and hours worked per day
  • Handle Guest Service matters in a timely manner according to departmental procedures
  • Correct issues and provide positive reinforcement to Ambassadors
  • Conduct equipment and safety checks
  • Assist with monitoring the area opening and closing procedures and ensure all team members complete tasks within a timely manner
  • Enforce department/park policies and procedures
  • Complete daily and weekly reports
  • Follow Park protocol in emergency situations
  • Establish and maintain a positive professional atmosphere which ensures the highest level of team member while supporting and demonstrating exemplary guest service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What else is important:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat
  • Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our Holiday and Availability agreement
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations
  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
