Working under the Supervisor, this role helps ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met, and serves as a backup during absences.

You will train employees, support process improvements, troubleshoot production issues, and assist with introducing new products and processes.

Qualifications

  • Typically 3–5 years of related production or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with soldering, laminating, electrical and mechanical assembly, or product testing is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, product structures, and prints.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Assistant Supervisor I

Location: Milford, NH
Pay Rate: $27.00–$30.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Supervisor I to support daily production operations and assist with coordinating personnel, materials, equipment, and production schedules. Working under the direction of the Supervisor, this role helps ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.

The Assistant Supervisor will also serve as a backup to the Supervisor during temporary absences and will play an important role in training employees, supporting process improvements, troubleshooting production issues, and helping introduce new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a variety of complex production operations and activities within assigned production areas.
  • Communicate with department personnel regarding production processes, materials, equipment, product quality, efficiency, and schedules.
  • Assist with transitioning new products and processes into production.
  • Train employees on production processes, equipment, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assist with onboarding and developing the skills of new and existing production employees.
  • Implement and monitor production schedules, coordinating materials, tooling, labor, and equipment capacity.
  • Identify production constraints and help develop solutions to maintain productivity and schedules.
  • Assign daily production tasks and responsibilities to operators.
  • Monitor machine and equipment performance and coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding preventive maintenance and major repairs.
  • Set up work areas and provide employees with appropriate instructions, demonstrations, and production guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Training personnel to support employee development.
  • Make decisions regarding the quality of in-process assemblies and finished products.
  • Participate in the FAAR process, as required.
  • Support Engineering and Sales teams with new product development, pilot runs, samples, manufacturing processes, and related documentation.
  • Oversee inventory activities, including cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels of consumables and expense items and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Read and understand product structures, work instructions, and technical prints.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete production assignments as needed to support department goals.
  • Identify and appropriately disposition rejected or non-conforming products.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with coworkers, leadership, and other departments.
  • Follow all applicable safety regulations and required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Typically 3–5 years of related production or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with some or all of the following may be required based on the assigned production area:
    • Soldering
    • Laminating
    • Electrical assembly
    • Mechanical assembly
    • Product testing
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, product structures, and prints.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to recognize when equipment, processes, or production activities are not operating as expected.
  • Strong visualization skills and the ability to understand how components fit together or how assemblies will look when rearranged or completed.
  • Ability to apply general knowledge and reasoning to resolve production-related problems.
Additional Requirements

Depending on the assigned production area, the position may require:

  • DOT medical certification.
  • Previous experience operating a non-CDL box truck.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Manlift experience.
  • Powered pallet jack experience.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour
