Job summary

JPI is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee field construction and coordinate subcontractor work across multiple trades on multifamily projects. You will manage quality, schedule, and safety performance at the site and ensure inspections and approvals are completed on time.

Ideal candidates will have five years of construction experience with three years in multifamily builds, and a strong working knowledge of scheduling practices and PC software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of construction experience with at least three years of multi-family construction experience.
• Familiar with multifamily construction procedures and scheduling practices.
• Must have PC proficient.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the field construction process, ensuring quality, schedule and performance for assigned trades/sections.
• Coordinate subcontractor work across framing, roofing, concrete, electrical, plumbing, and more.
• Manage material procurement, deliveries and inventory, including direct purchases.
• Prepare safety/production meeting agendas and minutes as assigned; lead safety walks with the safety inspector.
• Schedule third party and city inspections and verify compliance with QA checklists.
• Review approved submittals and RFIs before engaging subcontractors; coordinate pre-con meetings.
• Maintain and enforce safety policies; coordinate look-ahead schedules and city inspections.
• Coordinate site logistics: dumpsters, storage/laydown areas, utilities, and temporary facilities.
