Job summary

Suffolk in Marion, IA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent, Mission Critical to plan and execute the construction program, ensuring safety, quality and schedule on site.

You will oversee document control, layout, QA inspections, on-site progress, daily reports, and coordination with clients. Bachelor's in engineering or construction management preferred and 2+ years in data center construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in mission critical/data center construction.
• Strong time management, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the project team.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions.
• Verify subcontractor layout for line and grade.
• Administer Quality Management Program and document deficiencies.
• Monitor on-site progress for contract compliance.
• Document daily construction activity with reports and photos.
• Prepare and distribute daily/weekly work plans and logistics.
• Attend meetings with clients and provide status updates.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections for project completion.
• Support Suffolk Safety Program and enforce safety requirements.
• Mentor and supervise Field Engineers and communicate safety expectations.
