Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field execution on complex construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role provides a clear path to Superintendent with hands-on exposure to field leadership alongside experienced Superintendents and trade partners.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and knowledge of construction operations. A focus on safety and coordination with the Superintendent will be essential for project success

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman carpentry training and/or supervisory training preferred.
• 5+ years construction experience, OR 2+ years with a 4-year degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of safety requirements.
• Ability to motivate employees and handle different situations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise craft personnel to ensure the project is built to design, on budget, and on schedule.
• Assist in planning work schedule, determine manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
• Monitor safety compliance and working procedures.
• Notify Superintendent of potential problems and assist in problem solving.
