Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking a driven Assistant Superintendent to support field execution on complex construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role offers a clear path to Superintendent, with hands-on exposure to all aspects of field leadership while working alongside experienced Superintendents and trade partners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman carpentry training and/or supervisory training preferred.
• 5+ years construction experience or 2+ years with a 4-year degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and safety requirements.
• Ability to motivate employees and handle different situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervision of craft personnel to meet design, budget, and schedule.
• Assist in planning work schedules, manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
• Monitor safety compliance and working procedures on site.
• Inform Superintendent of potential problems and assist in solving them; perform other duties as required.
