Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field execution on complex projects from mobilization through closeout. This role provides hands-on exposure to field leadership and a path to a lead Superintendent role.

You will coordinate subcontractors, uphold safety, quality, and schedule, and work closely with experienced Superintendents and trade partners to deliver projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman carpentry training or supervisory training preferred.
• 5+ years construction experience, or 2+ years with a 4-year degree.
• Bachelor’s in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety requirements.
• Ability to motivate employees and handle different situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of craft personnel to ensure project is built per design, on budget, and on schedule.
• Assist in planning work schedule, manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor safety and working procedures compliance.
• Advise Superintendent of potential problems and assist in solving.
• Perform additional assignments as required.
