Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for an active commercial project in Redwood City, CA. The role supports the Senior Superintendent in day-to-day construction activities, supervising subcontractors to deliver on time, on budget, and to plan specifications.

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years in commercial construction, ability to interpret plans, and proficiency in MS Office. Procore and MS Project are a plus; OSHA 30 is desirable. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in Commercial Construction, preferably with a GC.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and managing daily activities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and submittals.

Job Details

Our Construction Company has been in business for over 65 years performing Commercial Construction of large retail centers, theaters and entertainment complexes, casinos, hotels, and a variety of other commercial projects.

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for an active project in Redwood City, CA.

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Senior Superintendent in managing the day-to-day construction activities and supervision of subcontractors to help deliver the project on time, on budget, and in accordance with the plans and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality standards and ensuring a strong focus on jobsite safety.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support oversight of subcontractor work to ensure contract compliance, quality standards, and adherence to the project schedule.
• Assist in maintaining jobsite safety and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Help monitor site compliance related to SWPPP and environmental requirements.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining detailed 3-week look-ahead schedule.
• Coordinate and track punch list items to ensure timely completion.
• Support project closeout activities and warranty follow-up in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Maintain positive working relationships with the project owner, subcontractors, material suppliers, inspectors, and the entire team.
• Help maintain jobsite organization, cleanliness, and overall site awareness.
• Participate in and help lead weekly job site meetings.
• Provide job site leadership and decision-making in the absence of the Senior Superintendent.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 3–7 years of experience in Commercial Construction, preferably with a General Contractor.
• Experience supporting or assisting with field supervision of subcontractors and daily construction activities.
• Ability to meet tight timelines and project deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
• Experience utilizing Construction Management Software; **Procore preferred
• OSHA 30 Certification a plus, but not required.
