Job summary

Jobot in San Francisco, CA is hiring a hands-on Superintendent to lead high-profile commercial construction projects from start to finish. You will serve as the primary on-site representative, coordinating owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while delivering safe, on-time, and high-quality results.

The role requires 5+ years as a Superintendent on commercial projects, strong scheduling and field operations expertise, and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Experience managing tenant improvements, renovations, modernization, healthcare, life sciences, education, office, mixed-use, or ground-up commercial projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction scheduling software.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site representative and point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, property management teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Lead and manage all field operations from project startup through closeout.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed construction schedules, identifying risks and implementing recovery plans when necessary.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractor activities to ensure work progresses efficiently and according to schedule.
  • Conduct daily site walks to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and project progress.
  • Enforce all project-specific safety requirements and OSHA regulations.
  • Manage material deliveries, site logistics, building access, freight coordination, and staging activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Facilitate weekly construction meetings and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts.
  • Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, photo documentation, safety logs, and punch lists.
  • Coordinate inspections and support the successful completion of project closeout requirements.
  • Mentor field personnel and contribute to the development of junior staff.
