Job summary

Allegiance Group in Greenville, SC is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for our commercial projects. You’ll work with the Superintendent and Project Manager to run day-to-day site operations, coordinate trades, and ensure work aligns with plans and safety standards.

You will develop short-term schedules, lead toolbox talks, review RFIs, and mentor junior staff while driving site logistics, inspections, and documentation in Procore.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in commercial construction (4+ preferred).
• Experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Foreman is a strong plus.
• Technical college degree or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 certification or plan to obtain within 30 days.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Procore, Microsoft Office and scheduling software proficiency.
• Able to read plans and specs well across trades.
• Safety-focused and enforce safety standards.
• Organized, communicates clearly, stays calm when plans change.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily, weekly and monthly work with the Superintendent to hit milestones and stay on budget.
• Direct subcontractors and trades on site to meet plans and specs.
• Assist with site logistics, staging, phasing and recovery plans when schedules slip.
• Step in to run the site when the Superintendent is absent.
• Lead weekly toolbox talks, safety orientations and site inspections.
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations.
• Run pre-installation meetings and inspect work in place.
• Identify clashes between building systems and coordinate RFIs with the team.
• Walk full internal punch lists before owner/design team walkthroughs.
• Maintain daily reports, manpower counts, field drawings and jobsite records in Procore.
• Assist in scheduling inspections and coordinating with local inspectors and utility reps.
• Mentor Field Engineers and interns.

Assistant Superintendent – Commercial Construction

We’re a commercial general contractor with offices across South Carolina, and we’re hiring an Assistant Superintendent for our Greenville projects.

You’ll work alongside the Superintendent and Project Manager to run the jobsite day to day.

You’ll keep trades moving, keep the site safe, and keep the paperwork right. If you’re a Foreman or Assistant Super who wants to step up to Superintendent, this role is set up to get you there.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning daily, weekly and monthly work with the Superintendent to hit milestones and stay on budget
• Directing subcontractors and trade workers on site and making sure the work is built to plans and specs
• Helping with site logistics, staging and phasing, and putting recovery plans in place when the schedule slips
• Stepping in to run the site when the Superintendent is away
• Leading weekly toolbox talks, safety orientations and jobsite safety inspections
• Taking part in incident and near-miss investigations
• Running pre-installation meetings and inspecting work in place
• Spotting clashes between building systems, flagging when an RFI is needed, and working through them with the team
• Walking a full internal punch list before the owner and design team come through
• Keeping daily reports, manpower counts, field drawings and jobsite records up to date in Procore
• Helping schedule building inspections and working with local inspectors and utility reps
• Mentoring Field Engineers and interns

What we’re looking for

• At least 3 years in commercial construction (4+ preferred)
• Experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Foreman is a strong plus
• A technical college degree, or equivalent field experience
• OSHA 30 (or you’ll get it within 30 days of starting)
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Comfortable in Procore, Microsoft Office and scheduling software (MS Project, Outbuild or Primavera)
• You can read plans and specs well and know construction means and methods across different trades
• You take safety seriously and you’ll hold others to it
• You’re organized, you communicate clearly, and you stay calm when plans change
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (you’ll drive a company vehicle)

Good to know

You’ll spend most of your day on an active jobsite in all weather, walking the site, climbing ladders and scaffolding, and inspecting work at every stage. There’s also some trailer and office time for reporting. You’ll travel locally between the jobsite, the office and suppliers.
