Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for multifamily construction in California. You will support the Site Superintendent, coordinate subcontractors, monitor safety and quality, and help schedule and track progress on active projects.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in commercial construction with large multifamily or podium projects and proficiency in MS Project and MS Office. Great pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience on 200+ unit ground‑up multifamily and podium/mixed‑use projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes, vendor coordination, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Superintendent in daily operations on active jobsites.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure plans and specs are followed.
• Monitor safety and quality, conduct inspections, and document progress.
• Assist with project scheduling and tracking against timelines.
• Manage materials, site logistics, and maintain OSHA compliance.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Support the Site Superintendent in the daily operations of an active jobsite.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Monitor site safety and quality control, conducting regular inspections.
• Assist with project scheduling and tracking progress against timelines.
• Manage material deliveries and site logistics.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA‑compliant jobsite.
• Assist with inspections and documentation for local authorities and project managers.
• Identify and help resolve field‑level construction issues.
• Foster communication between field personnel, project management, and inspectors.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of commercial construction experience at a General Contractor
• Prior experience with 200+ unit ground‑up multifamily and mixed‑use projects (including podium, garden walk‑up, and other Type I developments)
• General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
• Experience building relationships with owners and managing field staff
• Prior experience with MS Project (or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
