Job summary

GH Engage is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join a ground-up data center core and shell project in North Alabama. You’ll support the Lead Superintendent, manage day-to-day field operations, and coordinate subcontractors across concrete, steel, foundations and envelope scopes on a large footprint.

On-site, you’ll read drawings and schedules, contribute to a reliable look-ahead, run QA/QC, and enforce safety standards while keeping the jobsite organized.

Qualifications

• Minimum several years as Assistant Superintendent on ground-up commercial/industrial projects.
• Hands-on with core-shell scopes: concrete, structural steel, foundations, envelope.
• Ability to read drawings and schedules; coordinate subcontractors.
• Data center/mission-critical experience is a plus but not required.

Assistant Superintendent - Data Center Core & Shell | North Alabama

A national general contractor is building the core and shell of a major new data center in North Alabama, and we're adding several Assistant Superintendents to the field team.

This is a ground-up, large-footprint project with serious scale. It's a great move for an up-and-coming superintendent who wants to build structure and envelope at volume and get mission-critical experience under their belt.

What you'll do

• Support the Lead Superintendent in running day-to-day field operations on your assigned areas or scopes
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors on concrete (tilt-up and/or cast-in-place), structural steel, foundations, and envelope work
• Help manage the daily and weekly schedule, keeping your areas on track and feeding the look-ahead
• Walk the work and run QA/QC to make sure structural and enclosure scopes are built right the first time
• Enforce site safety standards and help keep the jobsite clean and organized
• Keep accurate daily logs, track progress, and flag issues early

What we're looking for

• Experience as an Assistant Superintendent (or a Foreman ready to step up) on ground-up commercial or industrial projects
• Hands-on exposure to core and shell scopes: concrete, structural steel, foundations, and building envelope on larger footprints
• Comfortable coordinating subcontractors and reading drawings and schedules
• Data center or mission-critical experience is a plus, but not required - strong large-scale commercial/industrial supers are encouraged to apply
• A safety-first mindset and a drive to learn and take on more
• Able to be on-site full time in North Alabama for the duration of the project
