Job summary

Family Dollar in Greenville, SC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, train staff, and help ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, merchandise flow from delivery to floor, loss prevention, and maintaining store fixtures. A strong candidate has retail leadership experience and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Other duties as assigned
