Job summary

Family Dollar in Chesterfield, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and help ensure the store runs smoothly.

You will train and supervise associates, maintain merchandise and displays, handle opening and closing procedures, and uphold store policies while delivering a safe, friendly shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain store areas according to company standards and protect store assets.
• Train and develop store associates and ensure a positive, safe environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and general presentation.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
