Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Cairo, GA to support day-to-day store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, organize stock, and help supervise store associates to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

Key duties include opening/closing, following corporate directives, maintaining fixtures, and supporting payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Follow safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including restrooms, floors, trash, and presentation.
