Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, provide on-floor customer service, and develop the team in Carthage, NC.

You will assist in organizing merchandise, supervising store associates, handling opening and closing duties, protecting assets, and ensuring safety and policies are followed. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent movement and physical activity
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and payroll/scheduling records
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful store environment
• Other duties as assigned
