Job summary

Dollar Tree in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise, train associates, ensure safety and cleanliness, and help manage payroll and scheduling. This part-time role requires strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required reading/interpretation of directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform required physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
