Job summary

Dollar Tree in Canton, MS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and help supervise store associates.

You will ensure safety, compliance with policies, straighten fixtures, handle opening/closing, and contribute to a positive environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks regularly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies including safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful store environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash disposed, areas neat.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
