Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in New Orleans, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and maintain organized stockrooms and sales floors.

The role includes opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling support, and ensuring a safe, friendly store environment. This is a part-time position with opportunities to contribute and grow within the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure associates follow guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, including restrooms, floors, trash, and general presentation.
