Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Lancaster, TX to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will support the Store Manager with daily tasks, supervise associates, ensure safety and policy compliance, and maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs as needed to perform responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, and areas neat and presentable.
