Job summary

Family Dollar in Johnstown, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will help with day-to-day activities and supervise a team to ensure quality service.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and maintaining a safe, clean, and friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience in store management or supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure staff comply with policies.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; foster a positive, safe environment.
• Ensure cleanliness across the store, restrooms, floors, and general areas.
