Job summary

Family Dollar in Algodones, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure policy compliance while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for shoppers and staff.

This part-time role offers an opportunity to contribute to a busy neighborhood store and develop leadership skills under the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain store fixtures, displays and promotional effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure assets
• Adhere to policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a safe and respectful environment for customers and staff
