Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Plainview, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, supervise and train Store Associates, and help maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom.

Open and close procedures, payroll and scheduling, and processing corporate directives are part of the role. You will uphold safety standards, protect store assets, and maintain engaging customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and follow directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (walking, standing, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and other communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll records, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash; adhere to safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
