Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Milwaukie, Oregon location. You will assist with daily store functions, organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while preserving company policies.

The role is part-time, and you will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, improve customer satisfaction, and maintain store presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing).
• Strong written, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; participate in loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed by all associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
