Job summary

Dollar Tree in Linden, New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers in a positive, approachable manner, and ensure merchandise moves smoothly from delivery to the sales floor.

This part-time role involves opening and closing procedures, processing directives, maintaining clean, well-stocked areas, training and supervising store associates, upholding safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store including bathrooms, floors, and restocking.
• Other duties as assigned.
