Job summary

Dollar Tree in Irvington, NJ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. This role assists with day-to-day activities, oversees merchandise transfers, and ensures store cleanliness and safety.

The incumbent will help with scheduling, payroll, cash handling, and training Store Associates while maintaining high customer service standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties associated with store operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise transfers from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow directives and assist with payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and loss prevention.
• Keep the sales floor and stockroom well-organized and clean.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Assist Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and stock across bathrooms and store areas.
