Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Pontiac, MI to support store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop the team.

You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, and adherence to company policies while promoting a safe, friendly environment for customers and associates. Prior retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read operational directives.
• Retail management experience in grocery, retail, or drugstore preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented in a high-energy environment.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Support merchandise organization from truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash and inventories.
• Help supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
