Job summary

Dollar Tree in Lawrence, KS is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the store team.

The role involves assisting with merchandising, opening/closing procedures, scheduling, payroll, and loss prevention while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates. Previous retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise and transfer stock from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Follow safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable.
