Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Topeka, KS seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities and supervise associates to ensure a positive shopping experience.

This role requires strong communication, the ability to train staff, and adherence to company policies. The position is part-time with duties including opening/closing procedures, merchandising, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Store management experience in retail preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling and cash deposits
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors and trash
• Other duties as assigned
