Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision of staff, merchandise presentation, paperwork, and deposits while protecting assets and reducing losses.

The role includes stocking, cashiering, managing schedules, training, and ensuring compliance with policies. You will open/close stores, manage planograms, and support profitability through strong team leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Able to operate a cash register and scanning devices.
• Basic reading of safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and display compliance under Store Manager direction.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and cash control.
• Assist with management in the Store Manager's absence.
